Autumn Blessings

Hello everyone! I'm here to share to another card for Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. This time I decided to make a shaker card with lots of cocoa and pumpkin sequins goodness.

Here's my card:

I used the cut file from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon which is a freebie this week, till Thursday. I modified the file to make a shaker window. The I filled the shaker part with orange and brown sequins. I stamped the pumpkin from STAMPlorations Holiday Expressions: Thankful for Autumn set with Distress ink ripe persimmon. The leaf is cut on my cricut with the SVG file from SVG Cutting Files and colored with distress ink wild ripe persimmon.

I embossed the word Fall on a dark brown panel with clear embossing powder. The stamp is from the STAMPlorations Holiday Expressions: Thankful for Autumn set.

The sentiment "Autumn Blessings" is also from the STAMPlorations Holiday Expressions: Thankful for Autumn set.

This card was inspired by the current Muse Challenge, which is a card by Tracey M. McNeely.

Please forgive the quality of the pictures. My camera was acting up and so, I had to use my mobile phone. Also, there's not much sunlight today. I'll try to get better ones tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by. Do let me know your thoughts.

Coffee Hugs

Hello everyone! How was your weekend? Hope you all had a great time. I made a card for the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog hop. This is my first time in the Coffee lovers blog hop.
Here's my card:

I used the cut file from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon, which is a freebie this week. The pumpkin on the cup had eyes. It was cute. But I thought it wouldn't work well with the kind of card that I planned to do, so I removed that. I used Distress ink Ripe persimmon and Wild honey to color the pumpkin.

I used my Cricut Explore to cut a lot of construction paper and the mat lost its stickiness. The construction paper has lots of fibre which is difficult to remove from the mat. So whenever I tried to cut a design, the paper won't stick properly to the mat and while cutting, the paper will move. I was planning on changing the mat but was a little hesitant to do so. I was reading a post on one of the Cricut groups in FB where some people said they clean their mats with dish washing soap. I thought I'd give it a try before throwing the mat out. I'm glad I tried it!! I washed it twice with Dawn liquid soap and now it's sticking as good as new! So if any of you are facing this issue, you can give it a try. I mixed Dawn liquid soap with water and spread it on the mat. The FB post said to use a scrapper, but since I didn't have one I used a soft toothbrush. Once done, wash it with water and wipe with a clean towel or let it air dry. Mine became sticky after the first time, but not very good. So I did this one more time and it was perfect!

The sentiment is from STAMPlorations VIGNETTE: Art Deco Border Builders stamp set. I embossed it with white embossing powder. The Fall leaves are handmade. I used the cut file from SVG Cutting files, which is a freebie. I inked them with Distress ink Wild honey, Ripe persimmon and Hero Arts Dark Quartz and Red Royal.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you liked this card. Let me know what you think of this card and any suggestions as well!

Musical Score Birthday

Hello everyone! It's the final week for our challenge 'Boys will be boys' at the Unstampabelles.

Here's my card to inspire you to join our challenge:

I made a birthday card for a music lover. The musical notes are for the happy birthday song. I drew the score myself.

The sentiment is also handwritten. I used some black ribbon from my stash. The embossed paper is from the DCWV Embossed paper stack.

This is a very simple, easy to make masculine card. I hope this inspires you to create one for our current challenge. There's only few more days (ends on Oct 2nd Australian time) to join in. Do check out what the team has created to inspire you on this final week here.

Thanks for stopping by and for all your lovely comments.

You Make My Heart Sing

Hello everyone! I think I'm pretty obsessed with gold embossing, especially on vellum, for sometime now. Here's another card with gold embossing and watercoloring!

I stamped the Dogwood Flower stamp from STAMPlorations repeatedly and embossed it with Hero Art gold embossing powder. I colored it using watercolor. For the background I used Distress Mini Evergreen Bough. This is a color combination I've been wanting to try for a while. I've seen quite a few contests having this color combo in the past.

The stamping on the vellum is a Treble clef with the sentiment 'You make my heart sing'. It is from Unity Stamp Co. I embossed it with the same Hero Arts gold embossing powder.

I love the background! Flowers always make our heart sing, doesn't it? What is your thought on this?

Thanks for stopping by. Appreciate all your comments.

Guitar Card

Hello everyone! It's time for new inspiration for our current challenge at the Unstampabelles. Our theme is month is 'Boys will be Boys' with a twist of writing about what makes it a good masculine card. Please remember not to use stamps on your projects.

Here is the card that I made for the mid-month inspiration:

I made this card for my husband's birthday recently. He loves music and used to play Base Guitar back in school. So I thought it would be fun to give him a card with a guitar.

I wanted to try this color combo for a very long time and I thought it worked perfectly for masculine cards. I drew the guitar by hand and fussy cut it. The sentiment is hand-written.

I think music and sports is something that can be used in most masculine cards. Also

I hope my card inspires you to join in our current challenge.

Embossed Pattern

Hello everyone!! Hope you are having a wonderful day! After a few days, I managed to get some craft done today. I made a quick card that was inspired by the Virginia's View Challenge. The challenge is to create geometric pattern. Here's what I came up with:

I love gold embossing on vellum. When I saw the inspiration picture for the challenge, I decided to use it on this card. I stamped one of the stamps from the Stamplorations' VIGNETTE: Art Deco Border Builders stamp set repeatedly using Versamark ink and heat embossed it with gold powder. The stamp image is actually a square tile like one. I used one of the templates from here to help with the stamping.

The sentiment is from the same set. I heat embossed it with gold powder again, to match with the pattern. I used a mint-y green paper backing for the vellum.

So what are your thoughts on this? Thanks for stopping by. Appreciate all your comments.

Happily Ever After...

Hello everyone!! Our first challenge at the Where The HeART Is starts today!! Yay!! Our first challenge theme is to 'Use Some Text'. We are sponsored by Chubby Mermaid this month and the prize is one single digi image from their shop.

Here's my inspiration for this month's challenge:

I used black card base. I cut a piece of white card stock. The curve was a free-hand drawing.

The sentiment and the frame are stamps from JustRite Stamps' Happy Ever After Antique Labels stamps set. I embossed it with black powder. The flowers are handmade. I used my punch to cut out the flowers. I used Ranger Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass and Squeezed Lemonade for the flowers and Squeezed Lemonade and Bundled Sage for the leaves.

Baby Boy Dresser Card

Hello everyone!! It's time for a new challenge at the Unstampabelles. The theme for this month is 'Boys will be boys' and the twist is to journal about the qualities of a good masculine card. Masculine cards are generally a challenge to make, for people especially like me who cannot refrain from adding a flower, butterfly or a rhinestone. Our challenge encourages you to have a go at making a card for a male of any age, without the use of stamps!

Here is my inspiration:

I was planning to create a dresser card for a long time. Initially I thought of using brown cardstock for the dresser. Then I thought most of the baby dressers in Ikea is white or a light color. So I went with white :) The polka dot embossed card is from DCWV.

I had cut the onesie with my Cricut Explore previously. I embossed the teddy bear using an embosser and then followed the lines to fussy cut it. I added the eyes and nose with my black gel pen.

I used my tiny baby handprint punch to cut the shape of a baby's hand and added it to a frame which I inked with light blue ink.

I added a banner with the hand-written sentiment 'It's a boy'. I folder a piece of the same pattern paper I had used for the onesie to resemble a blanket flowing out of the drawer.

What do I consider to be the qualities of a masculine card -First of all, no butterflies or flowers. And certainly no pink. Sports, Super heros and gadgets can be added as the main focus.

Thanks for stopping by. Do let me know your thoughts and suggestions. Please visit the other design team members' creations as well. They are sure to inspire you with their lovely creations. Don't forget to enter the Unstampabelles challenge. The prize is the set of awesome decoupage sheets and stickers sheets.
