Shabby Chic Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone!! It's time for my Inspired By Stamping DT post. I'm always intrigued by the vintage shabby chic cards. I love to look at them. But I don't try to make them often because I really don't know where to start with the layers. Recently, for the Inspired By Stamping July release, I made a kind-of vintage card (see here), for which I received some appreciation in FB groups (most likes was received by my copic-colored card here). It motivated me to try it again. So here am I, with a shabby chic card, with lots of flowers and distressing, giving you the step-by-step detail of how I made this as well.

My first difficult step was to choose the layers - how many and how big. I had decided to use the papers from the Inspired By Stamping Vintage Florals Paper Pad. After much debating, I settled on these papers and sizes.

I distressed the edges of the papers with scissors and inked them with Distress Ink Victorian Velvet. I also inked the edges of a white A2 card base.

Next, I added lace and ribbon on the card panel (A) of size 4" x 5 1/4". Both the ribbon and lace are from the Inspired By Stamping Pink Ribbon collection.

Then, I layered the card panel C on top of card panel B.

Then I adhered this onto the card panel A, next to the ribbon and lace. I also added some lace on top of it.

Then I adhered the card panel D

Now comes the fun part - adding flowers!! I used flowers from Mixed Flowers and Paper Roses from Inspired By Stamping. I inked the flowers I also added a few leaves cut from my Cricut.

For the sentiment, I stamped the "birthday wishes" from the Summer Bouquet stamp set on to piece of white cardstock and cut it out into a fishtail banner. I sponged the edges with Distress Ink Victorian Velvet and curled up the banner. Then I adhered it near the flowers.

Then I adhered the entire panel on to the card base (which I had already inked with Victorian Velvet)

Here's another look of the card.

That's it. So what do you think? Does it qualify as a shabby chic card? Or does it need something more? Do tell me.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget, Joanna has generously offered a 15% off coupon that is valid till Dec 31, 2017. Please note that it cannot be used with conjunction of other coupons. It is not valid for clearance items and sale items. It can be used more than once.
