Watercolored Christmas Card

Hello everyone!! It's time for the mid month inspiration here at Where The HeART Is. Our theme this month is Christmas Colors. Here's what I made to inspire you:

This is my first trial at 'freehand' water coloring. I used a rough pencil sketch as guide. Well, it's far from being perfect, but I guess it's ok for a first try. I used Yasutomo Pearlescent water color paint. It has a shimmer to it.

I love how the brush lettering has turned out. What do you think? Do you have any tips or tricks that you follow?

Please visit the Where The HeART Is blog for more inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by. Please let me know your thoughts and comments.

Holographic Bells

Hello everyone!! It's time for a new week inspiration here at the Unstampabelles. Our current theme is 'Sparkle' and the twist is to make us smile. Please remember not the use stamps :)

I recently bought a pack of holographic sheets from the local Dollar Tree. It had both foiled sheets and holographic sheets in colors of gold, red, silver and blue. I was planning to use them for Christmas cards. Well, I finally got the chance. I cut it on my cricut. I don't remember from where I got the bells cut file, but I have it on my Cricut design space for a long time. I cut the bells in red and used kraft card base.

I made another one with grey and silver. The sentiment is hand written on both.

I hope you will join us for this challenge. You can submit your entries here.

Warm Wishes

Hello everyone!! Have you ever wondered if you could use Postage stamps on cards? Well, it's time for a new challenge at Fairy Tale Challenges. Our theme for this challenge is to use a stamp along with a postage stamp. Here's a quick and simple card that I made using the both.

I used one of the stamps from the recent Peanuts stamp sheet. I loved this one with the mail box. I used the sentiment from the FSJ Wish in a Bottle stamp set.

I added the snow with the correction pen. This is a really simple and quick card, that can bring a smile on someone's face. Don't you think? And please stop by the Fairy Tale Challenges blog for more inspiration.

Cup of Cheer

Hello everyone!! I'm back to share one more card that I made now.

I used one of the cups from the Verve Stamps - Cup of Kindness Digi set, which is available for free till Dec 25th. The sentiment is also from the same set. I took a printout of the cup, fuzzy cut it and colored it with markers. I cut the sentiment into a rectangle and layered it on red card stock panel. I wrapped red baker's twine around the sentiment panel. I love this sentiment. It's perfect for New Year cards.

I adhered the cup with foam tape. I didn't add any glitter or bling on this one, as I wanted to keep it simple and masculine.

Cup of Kindness

Hello everyone!! After a small break, I made a few cards today. Many of you might know that 2015 Winter/Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is open now. And that today is National Cocoa day! I made a few cards to celebrate that!!

In lieu of this hop, Verve stamps has released a digi set, which is available completely free of cost, till December 25th. You can get it here. Both the cup and the sentiment in my card are from this digi set. I've always tried ti shy away from digi images in the past (though I've used them on rare occasions), now that we've bought a printer at home, I'm trying to make the most out of it. I have a lot of figuring out to do!!

I printed the sentiment and cup on white paper. I fuzzy cut and colored the cup with my marker. I used a single marker to color my cup and had to use 5 - 7 coats to get to this stage. But I'm happy with the result. I used silver glitter gel for the snowflake in the cup. I used the same glitter get to draw a thin strip on the top and bottom end of the sentiment panel.

I used grey card stock for card base. I stamped some snowflakes from Hero Arts Tree-Mendous stamp set with white and grey ink. I hope you can see the tone on tone look of the grey ink.

Thankful For You

Hello everyone!! Have you ever felt that whatever you do, it doesn't turn out good? Well, I'm in one of those phases right now!! So I'm here to share a card that I made few weeks back for the STAMPlorations CAS DT call.

I used the Penny Black Promenade stencil and Distress inks - Bundled sage for leaves, Dried marigold and Ripe persimmon for the flowers. I selectively used the designs from the stencil and re-positioned it multiple times to get this design.

The sentiment is from STAMPlorations - Holiday Expressions: Thankful for Autumn stamp set. I embossed it with brown embossing powder. I used ivory card base.

Christmas Window Shaker Card

Hello everyone!! I should have posted this card yesterday. I'm so sorry for the delay. It's been a hectic week. It's time for a new challenge here at the Unstampabelles. Out theme this month is to add sparkle and the twist is to make us smile!! The prize for this month is a $20 Aust. Gift Voucher to an on-line shop of choice.

Here's what I decided to make:

I decided to use sequins for the sparkle, and there's something about shaker cards that make me smile. I merged two SVGs from The Lady Wolf - Window panes and cut it using my Cricut. I reused acetate from an old packaging. The sequins are from Dollar Tree. I hand drew the leaves and berries on top and the snow. The sentiment is also hand-written.

This is one of the card for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.

We had my daughter's 2nd birthday party yesterday. The theme was Minnie Mouse. I was busy this entire week making banner and buying return gifts. I will post the banner and other decorations that I made soon. I'm still behind on visiting your blogs. I hope I will make it this week.

Hello Friend

Hello everyone!! It's time for a new challenge here at Fairy Tales Challenge. Our new theme for this challenge is to add Metal to your project.

Here's what I made:

I have this stamp set from Whimsy stamps (I think it's retired) for a long time. I stamped and embossed it with Zing Silver embossing powder. I love the chandelier image. I made a double loop bow using silver sheer ribbon. The charms are from my stash (I have those for almost 2 years I guess). This color combination had turned out to be one of my favorites now!!
