Hello everyone! This week on Brutus Monroe, we are showcasing our card stock!! I decided to make a Christmas lantern!
I've been toying with the idea of making a lantern for Christmas for a long time. I had a die set which I thought would be perfect for this lantern. I started by die cutting the frame, for which I used the Lunchbag cardstock from Brutus Monroe. I die cut it with the Nestabilities Majestic Labels from Spellbinders. I was able to die cut 2 1/2 frames from 1 sheet of card stock.
I die cut another 1 1/2 frame from another sheet of card stock.
Then I scored the folds and cut the lower part in to flaps.
I joined the 2 sheets of card stock and made vellum panels for each frame. On each of the vellum panel, I heat embossed images and sentiments from the Holiday Card kit stamp set and the Merry and Bright stamp set with gilded embossing powder. For one of the panels, I colored on the backside of the vellum. I adhered the vellum panels to the frames.
Then I joined the 1st and 4th frame to form the lantern. I added red pearls on some of the vellum panels for an added accent.
I die cut holly leaves with Cabbage card stock and inked the leaves with cabbage ink. I added this on one of the frames with a few pearly berries. I used Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia Dies for the leaves.
For the front, main frame, I decided to make a layered poinsettia with red card stock. I die cut some flourishes on cabbage card stock with the Spellbinders Floral Flourishes dies and added a few red pearls to complete the flower arrangement.

I punched out a few sprigs from the same cabbage card stock with my MS Pine Branch punch and added that along with a few pearls on another frame.
