Birthday Surprise

Hello everyone!! Today, at Brutus Monroe, we have the new Stamp Club of the Month stamp set. Here's the card I made with the cute stamp for the month of April.

Well, this cake is not from the April Stamp Club stamp set! Surprise!!

This cute jack-in-the-box is! As soon as I saw this stamp set, I decided to make a pop-up card. I stamped and colored the images (both the cake and the jack-in-the-box) and fussy cut them. I colored the edges with a black marker. I embossed a piece of white card stock with the Aztech Stars embossing folder and matted it with brown card stock. I adhered it on to an A2 card base. I stamped the sentiment "happy birthday to you!" from the Topsy Cakes and "Surprise" from the Monthly Stamp Club, cut them up and matted them with brown card stock. I adhered the cake and the sentiment "happy birthday to you!" on the front of the card with foam squares.

For the pop-up part, I cut a thin strip of heavyweight card stock and scored it in 3 places. Both the end scores are at about 3/4" and the middle score depends on where you want the image from the fold of the card. Adhere the sentiment "Surprise" on to the jack-in-the-box and adhere it on to the pop-up strip and adhere the strip on to the card.
