Vintage Postage Stamps

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today I have a card using the Postage stamp trend.

I recently bought the Postage stamp cover die and stencils from Brass and Bliss. I finally got a chance to use them. I die cut a white cardstock stock with the postage die and used the stencil to mask and ink the individual postage stamps with a light green ink. Then I stamped a bunch of floral images, all from Altenew Stamps. I used the stamp sets Build A Garden - Natures’s Magic, Flower Delight, Tropical Jungle, Mini Magnolia, Dazzling Flowers: Sakura and Peony Bouquet and colored them with copics. I used the color scheme from the current January Inspiration Challenge. Using a black pen, I wrote the postage values on the stamps. Finally stamped a sentiment on the center stamp. I colored the card base with Hero Arts - Raspberry Jam ink.

I made a few mistakes with this card - I accidentally used Archival ink to stamp it, it smeared when coloring with copics. I tried so hard not to go over the stamped image, but still did it. I shouldn’t have inked the entire stamps with light green, it dulled the coloring a little bit, but gave a vintage-y look. But I do like how it turned out eventually. I love this postage stamp trend and have been wanting to try it for a while now. I’m glad I finally got to do it.

What do you think? Please do let me know. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.
