Hello everyone!! It's time for a new challenge at the Unstampabelles. The theme for this month is 'Boys will be boys' and the twist is to journal about the qualities of a good masculine card. Masculine cards are generally a challenge to make, for people especially like me who cannot refrain from adding a flower, butterfly or a rhinestone. Our challenge encourages you to have a go at making a card for a male of any age, without the use of stamps!
Here is my inspiration:
I was planning to create a dresser card for a long time. Initially I thought of using brown cardstock for the dresser. Then I thought most of the baby dressers in Ikea is white or a light color. So I went with white :) The polka dot embossed card is from DCWV.
I had cut the onesie with my Cricut Explore previously. I embossed the teddy bear using an embosser and then followed the lines to fussy cut it. I added the eyes and nose with my black gel pen.
I used my tiny baby handprint punch to cut the shape of a baby's hand and added it to a frame which I inked with light blue ink.
I added a banner with the hand-written sentiment 'It's a boy'. I folder a piece of the same pattern paper I had used for the onesie to resemble a blanket flowing out of the drawer.
What do I consider to be the qualities of a masculine card -First of all, no butterflies or flowers. And certainly no pink. Sports, Super heros and gadgets can be added as the main focus.
Thanks for stopping by. Do let me know your thoughts and suggestions. Please visit the other design team members' creations as well. They are sure to inspire you with their lovely creations. Don't forget to enter the Unstampabelles challenge. The prize is the set of awesome decoupage sheets and stickers sheets.
