GIU Day 2 - Christmas Tree

Hello everyone!! Welcome to Day 2 of my Growing in Unity week. I'm so excited to be the Growing In Unity girl this week. This week, Monday through Friday, I will be sharing my cards that I have made with Unity Stamps.

Here's what I've made for Day 2:

I used the Christmas tree and sentiment from the From Our Hearts to Yours stamp set and stamped it with Memento tuxedo black. I colored the tree with Copics G99, YG67, YG63 and YG61. For the ornaments, I used BIC metallic markers silver, teal and pink. I cut out a oval window on a piece of white card stock of size 4.25" x 5.5" and inked it with Distress ink Antique Linen. Adhered it on to the stamped panel with foam tape, then adhered the entire thing on to the card base with ScorTape.

I love the vintage look and feel of this Christmas card. How do you like this card? Let me know in the comments. Unity Stamps has generously offered a prize of a grab bag of 25 random stamps to 2 people who comment on my GIU posts. You have until Sunday night to comment on all my GIU posts. I will pick a winner on Monday. In case you have not seen my previous posts, please click here - Day 1

I highly recommend you to check out my GIU partner - Crystal O. Minkler's blog. She's very talented and I'm sure she has a wonderful project to inspire us today.

Thank you for stopping by today. Please do visit me tomorrow to see a new project with Unity Stamps. Hope you have a great day.

Joy To You And Yours

Hello everyone! I'm here with a quick Christmas card that I had made previously but couldn't share here on my blog then.

I stamped the Christmas Tree from Unity Stamps' From Our Heart To Yours set and colored it with Copics. I used a golden gel pen and Nuvo drops in Pale Gold and Autumn Red on the stars and the ornaments. I fussy cut it and adhered it onto a tag, which was a gift from one of my friends. I adhered the tag on to ivory card base and stamped the sentiment "Joy to you and yours" from the same stamp set with Hero Arts Red Royal ink. I added a red bow on top of the tag.

That's it. It's a simple card. This is an easy and beautiful way to convert the tags in to cards. Here are a few other cards that I made with the tags that I had made earlier.

What do you think of this card? Please do let me know.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great weekend.

Wire Christmas Tree

Hi everyone.. A quick post today with the wire Christmas tree with a crystal star topper that I made.

I used a plated aluminium wire for the tree. I made the star topper with crystals with a golden bead in the center.

Here it is on our window.

Thanks for visiting me today. Please let me know your thoughts and suggestions.

Christmas Tree

Hello everyone!! I apologize for being MIA for sometime. My daughter turned 1 on November 28 and we had the party on Dec 7. Also now that she has started walking, I'm busy running behind her :) But I made a few things for christmas decoration. I will be sharing them soon.

So off to the card.

Here is the front view of the card.

I created a window. Initially I thought of using acetate, but later I decided I wanted a 'frosted' look and hence I used tissue paper (I didn't have any vellum at the time). I added a few punched pine leaves and the poinsettia is a stamp from Joanna Sheen's "Make A Wish" set. I embossed it with gold embossing powder and colored it with sketch pen. The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' Christmas Penguins Clear Stamp Set. I drew the serial lights with black pen and sketch pens.

I decided to add a little bit of snow on the leaves. So I embossed a few spots on the leaves with white embossing powder.

This is a top opening card. Now onto the inside of the card.

I made a christmas tree with punched out pine leaves. I took a triangle piece of paper and covered it unevenly with scrap pieces of green paper (same one that I used for leaves). Then I glued the leaves on top of it. I used a golden color glitter foam star as my topper. I used some crystals and sequins for my ornaments. I wrapped a golden twine around the tree. I mounted the tree on foam tape.

Here's a side view on the tree.

I guess you can see the twine in this pic.

The window view when the card is closed.

The green color and the bling is visible through the window though not very clearly.

Please let me know your thoughts and comments.
Thank you for visiting me today. Enjoy the rest of your day.
