My Favorite Unity Blog hop

Hello everyone! Welcome to Unity Stamps Favorite stamp kit blog hop. I was the Growing in Unity girl this past week. Today, all the GIU girls of September and October are having a fun hop with their favorite Unity Stamp kit. You must have come from Amber Sheaves. If not, here's the hop order.

Let's get on to my card. I chose the Always Begin Again - KOTM 3/15. I chose this mainly because of the image of the girl :)

Here's my card:

I used the image of the girl and colored her with my marker. I love this image!! Her subtle smile, her flowing hair appealed to me. My coloring is not very good. This is the first image with skin tone that I've attempted to color. I did a trial version. Those of you following me on Instagram might have seen it. I couldn't resist adding a chain :D. I thought of adding pearls, but didn't have any that matched her dress. So I drew dots with the same marker and covered it with glossy accents. I used glossy accents for her hair band as well.

The sentiment is also from the same set. I used the same marker to ink the stamp. I used my punch to make the border. I didn't have a matching ribbon. So I used my marker to color a white ribbon :)

Hope you enjoyed today's hop. Oh! and there are prizes too. Two lucky people will be chosen from among those who leave comments on our blogs and they will win a Unity Grab Bag of 25 stamps each! Winners will be announced on Unity blog.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave your thoughts and comments. Thanks for your comments on my GIU posts. I enjoyed reading them. I will announce my winners of the GIU posts on Monday.

GIU Day 5 - Beautiful Little Things

Hello everyone!! Welcome to day 5 of my Growing in Unity week. Can't believe it's the end of the week already!!

Here's what I made for today:

I went for a distressed look on this one. That's quite new to me. I stamped the flower from Unity Stamps Best Things just happen set repeatedly along the border with VersaMagic Pink Petunia chalk ink. Then I sponged the panel with DI Tattered rose around the border, leaving the center of the panel. I stamped the sentiment from Unity Stamps Beautiful every little thing set with Pink Petunia chalk ink. I inked a piece of ribbon with Tattered rose and made a bow with it and added it to the card.

Thanks for stopping by. Thanks for all your comments. I will announce the 5 winners on Monday!! Hope you enjoyed my posts.

GIU Day 4 - Blessed Christmas

Hello everyone!! Welcome to day 4 of my Growing in Unity week. This week, till Friday, I will be sharing projects that I made with Unity Stamps.

For today's project I used a non-holiday stamp for a Christmas card. When I thought of this idea, I was jumping with joy. It makes me extremely happy to stretch my stamps and use them for something they are not intended to. Here is the card:

Does this stamp look familiar? Yes! It is from the Vintage floral bicycle from Simple Peace, Love, Happy stamp set that I used yesterday. I used only the wheel part of the bicycle and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I used my embossing pen to draw a circle around it and the holder on which the ornament is attached. I embossed all these with gold embossing powder. I then colored them using my markers. I used golden color thread to 'hang' these ornaments.

The sentiment, from Unity Stamps' Unto us stamp set, is also heat embossed with gold powder. I used red card base for this card. I masked off a thin strip on the left and applied versamark ink in a thin strip and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. Then I adhered the white panel onto the card base.

How do you like this card? Please let me know in the comments.

Thanks for stopping by. Do visit me every day this week, and leave your thoughts and comments. I will pick 2 winners at the end of this week and they will win 25 random stamps from Unity!! I will pick another 3 winners and they will receive some Unity stamps from me. How awesome is that!! See you tomorrow with another new and exciting project.

This is one of the cards for Caring Hearts Card Drive.

GIU Day 3 - Strength, Love & Beauty

Hello everyone!! Welcome to day 3 of my Growing in Unity week. This week, till Friday, I will be sharing projects that I made with Unity Stamps. Here's what I made for today.

I love this image of the vintage floral bicycle from the Unity Stamps SIMPLE PEACE, LOVE, HAPPY set. I thought it was beautiful for a pink themed card. I stamped it using the VersaMagic Pink Petunia chalk ink.

The sentiment Strength, love & beauty is from the Unity Stamps Everything resides in Hope set. It is perfect for this card!

The flowers are handmade. The leaves are a cut file from Bird's cards. The butterfly is cut using MS Butterfly punch. I added a few pearls to the butterfly and few rhinestones on the panel.

Thanks for stopping by. Do visit me every day this week, and leave your thoughts and comments. I will pick 2 winners at the end of this week and they will win 25 random stamps from Unity!! How awesome is that!! See you tomorrow with another new and exciting project.

EDIT: I've decided to give away additional 3 packs each with some Unity stamps. So I will be picking 5 winners in total.

GIU Day 2 - Hope Blooms

Hello everyone!! Welcome to day 2 of my Growing in Unity!! This week, till Friday, I will be sharing projects that I made with Unity Stamps. Let's get on to the project for today.

October is the Breast Cancer Awareness month. So I thought it would be appropriate to make few cards in pink. Here's one for today:

The image is from Unity Stamps' Happiness looks gorgeous stamp set on a piece of kraft paper that I recycled from the grocery bag. I stamped it with VersaMagic white chalk ink and colored with markers and glitter pens. The sentiment, from Unity Stamps' Petal Whimsy {Where Flowers Bloom} stamp set is also stamped with white chalk ink. I didn't have any dark pink cardstock. So I colored the edge of a white card stock with the same marker I used to color the flowers and used it to mat the kraft paper. I used dark pink/magenta glitter tape on the pink card base and adhered the panel at an angle to add more interest. I used my regular hole punch to punch out small circles from the glitter tape and covered it with glossy accent. I'm kind of getting hooked to glossy accent. I seem to use it more often!

I will admit that this card did not turn out the way I had thought, but anyway thought of sharing it so that you can help me in understanding the mistakes that I did and what I could have done better.

Thanks for stopping by. Do visit me every day this week, and leave your thoughts and comments. I will pick 2 winners at the end of this week and they will win 25 random stamps from Unity!! How awesome is that!! See you tomorrow with another new and exciting project.

GIU Day1 - Blessed Christmas

Hello everyone!! Welcome to my blog. I'm so excited to be Growing In Unity this week. I will be sharing projects that I made with Unity Stamps, from Monday to Friday. Let's get on to the project for today.

I made a simple Christmas card using one non-holiday stamp from Unity. It makes me happy to stretch my stamps beyond their intended use. Here's my card:

As soon I as I saw this swirl stamp from Unity stamps' Growing in Unity stamp set, I thought of winter and snow!! Also, this is the time for making Christmas cards right? So I went right ahead and made this card. The colors are not the traditional Christmas colors, but I loved this combination after I made my other Christmas card which you can see here.

I sponged a piece of white cardstock with DI Tumbled glass. Then I heat embossed the swirl stamp with Zing silver embossing powder. I cut the cardstock into 2 in a diagonal way. I matted this layer with another cardstock, slightly bigger than this and embossed it's ends with the same silver embossing powder. The sentiment, from Unity Stamps' Unto us stamp set, is also embossed with the same silver powder on the brown card base. To add some dimension, I adhered the inked panels with foam tape. I punched a snowflake using the MS Sonwflake punch and embossed it with the same silver embossing powder. Finally, I added a few blue gems from my stash.

So how do you like this card? Do visit me every day this week, and leave your thoughts and comments. I will pick 2 winners at the end of this week and they will win 25 random stamps from Unity!! How awesome is that!! See you tomorrow with another new and exciting project.

This is one of the cards for Caring Hearts Card Drive.

Hello everyone!! This week flew by so fast. It's Friday already and my last day of Growing in Unity. I was so lucky to get this spot and I really enjoyed it! Hope you guys liked my creations too!!

Onto today's card. It is another CAS card.

Yes!! I have started watercoloring!! It's so addictive now :) This is a glitter watercolor. I guess the glitter is not visible in the photo.

The flower is a stamp from the Unity Stamps' Best Things Just Happen set. Colored it with orange glitter watercolor and the center with golden glitter watercolor.

I used a few homemade enamel dots. The sentiment is from Unity Stamps' Sunflower-Miss you, Friend set.

Hope you liked it!!

Please leave your thoughts and comments! I will pick 1 random winner from all the comments left on the 5 days, to receive 2 itty bitty's of their choice. How awesome is that! You have until Sep 28 midnight EST to comment and I will announce the winner on Monday, Sep 29. Thanks for stopping by.

GIU - Day 4: Sunshine

Hello everyone!! I'm so excited to be the Growing In Unity Girl this week!! I will be sharing my creations using Unity Stamps this week till Friday.

For today I made a CAS card with a nice sentiment. Here is the card:

The sun is from the Unity Stamps' Beautiful – Inside and Out kit. I love it!! I colored it with sketch pens. I think the orange and black looks nice on yellow background.

The tree is from Unity Stamps' Eco Chic set. I colored that also with sketch pens.

I love this sentiment. It is from Unity Stamps' Follow your Own set.

GIU - Day 3: Little Princess

Hello everyone!! I'm so excited to be the Growing In Unity Girl this week!! I will be sharing my creations using Unity Stamps this week till Friday.

For today, I made a car sign board "Little Princess". Here it is:

I used pink and purple watercolor on the watercolor paper. Edged it with punched border.

The Little Princess Stamp is from Unity. Love the font and the cute tiara :)

The sentiment "You are amazing {just the way you are}" is from the stamp set All About Hope by Unity. The small flower in the top and bottom are also from Unity.

I made some enamel dots by melting perler beads. But instead of melting into a circle, they melted into heart-shaped dots :) Added 2 of them in pink color.

GIU - Day 2: Tiles

Hello everyone!! I'm so excited to be the Growing In Unity Girl this week!! I will be sharing my creations using Unity Stamps this week till Friday.

For today, I made a card with tiling. Here is the card:

I stamped the floral branch stamp from the Get it Before They’re Hex-a-gone Unity stamp set repeatedly on a white glossy card stock with blue ink. Then I cut the card stock into small squares and inked the edges of the squares with blue ink. I arranged the squares on blue card stock layered on white card. I love this stamp!

For the sentiment, I used the sentiment stamp "Strength, Love and Beauty" from the Everything resides in Hope stamp set from Unity Stamps. The flower is from the floral branch stamp. I inked the edge of the tag, layered it over blue card stock and used a blue ribbon to hag it.

GIU - Day 1: Happy Birthday

Hello everyone!! I'm so excited to be the Growing In Unity Girl this week!! I will be sharing my creations using Unity Stamps this week till Friday.

For my Day 1, I made a birthday card. I wanted to try watercoloring (inspired by the watercolor challenge at Catchy Challenges) on watercolor paper (I tried it once on glossy card stock here). So here it is:

I water colored the background. The birds, cycle and the "happy birthday" are from the Unity Stamps Follow Your Own set.

A closer look at the birds. I stamped the line of birds and fuzzy cut a few of them and used it here.

I stamped the background stamp with many cycles and fuzzy cut one of them to add it here. The grass in front of the fence is also a stamp from Unity, but I do not know its name. It is an irregular scallop border, which is perfect for this! "happy" and "birthday" are also from the "Follow Your Own" stamp set. The "happy" is stamped without the circle. The fence is cut from white card stock and I inked the corners with grey ink.

Here's another view of the card:

Hope you liked it!!

Please leave your thoughts and comments! I will pick 1 random winner from all the comments left on the 5 days, to receive 2 itty bitty's of their choice. How awesome is that! You have until Sep 28 midnight EST to comment and I will announce the winner on Monday, Sep 29. Thanks for stopping by.
