Calendar 2014 - Part 5

Here is the final part of the calendar.

To view the initial parts, please go here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4

I'm not very good at stamping. I had bought a new ink pad from Itsy Bitsy and I wanted to try it. I used the LOTV Christmas Baubles that I had got in LOTV's bithday celebration and colored it using sketch pens and glitter. Not very satisfied with the way I stamped it initially but somehow covered it up ;) Any tips for a stamping newbie??

The poinsettias are made by me using my new Itsy Bitsy flower punch and some golden beads :)

Here is the completed calendar:

The cover page has a scripture verse.

Since this calendar was for my husband, I had to avoid flowers, butterflies and pinks :) He was very happy with this calendar :)

For the month of July, I used small punches to form a frame around the verse and the calendar.

Here is a closer look at the frame.

Satisfied with the result of my first trial of tiling, I decided to do it again with a different patterned paper from Itsy Bitsy. I added faux stitching for added effect.

Calendar - December

This is the completed page for December.
I cut a piece of white paper in a snow like shape to make the snow on the ground. I cut a pine tree from green hand-made paper and added a star on top and used a foam tape to add some dimensional effect (which I guess is not very visible in the picture!! ) Added some golden glitter on the tree and some silver stars  in the background using glitter pens.

This is again a short post! Please do leave your comments and feedback. I love reading them and they sort of give me the energy I need to keep doing this :)

Deer Panteth For Water

I tried coloring for the first time after so many years (after school :D). Yesterday I tried using poster colors and the outcome was awful!! Today I tried with sketch pens and I think this is better that yesterday's result :) So I added it to the calendar, for the month of April.

The deer is a digi (I got by winning in Love To Create Challenge - Celebrations) from Rebecca Parker of Wings and Willows. I cut out a river, the meadows, the sun and the cloud. I colored everything using sketch pens. To give a 3D effect, I used a foam tape to stick the deer and the cloud. A closer look at the deer:

Calendar - July 2013

Here is my page for July 2013 (yes!! after March, I jumped to July, for no obvious reasons!) for the calendar that I'm making (To know more about it, start from my previous post). I tried to make doilies with my punches and here are the results :)

I used the same pattern paper throughout. I'm not sure if this can be called shabby-chic.

Calendar - March 2013

I thought of making a desk calendar for my husband in December last year. But somehow I got busy and was in short of ideas ;) to do that. After seeing Sindhu's calendar I got inspired :) and started doing it again. I don't think I'll be able to post more than 1 page in a day, but here comes my page for March which I completed a few days back.

I used the punches (still experimenting with it!!) to make the border of the calendar. I love the way it has come out!!
