Peonies

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today I have a floral card to share with you.

It’s no secret that I love Susan’s Garden dies. I used the Spellbinders - Double and Single Peonies die set to make the flowers. I used leaves from this set and the Spellbinders - Foliage and Ladybugs die set. I used copic markers to add some shading to the flowers. The background die is also from Spellbinders - from the Amazing Paper Grace line called Cannetille Rectangle die set. I love the gold on black.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

Beautiful Peonies

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today I have another floral card to share with you.

I used the Altenew - CAF Open Peony layering die set for this card. I die cut the pieces in white card stock and blended them with colored inks. It was pretty easy to put together. This die set did not have a bud, so I made one with just the inner most layers. On hindsight, I could have inked the stamen part as pink for the bud. I think that would have gone better maybe. Next time :) I used the Altenew - Fine Frames cover die to die cut that frame in white glitterstock. I used the colors from the current Altenew Inspiration challenge.

How do you like this card? Do let me know. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today I have a floral card to share with you.

I used the Altenew - Stargazer Lily die set to die cut the layers in white card stock and ink blended with pink, coral and green inks from Hero Arts, Brutus Monroe and Memento. For the background, I embossed a black card stock panel with Altenew - Woven Basket 3D embossing folder. The sentiment is from Altenew - Fresh Freesias.

Red Peony

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today I have a shadow box with a handmade flower in it.

Recently I watched one of Susan Tierney Cockburn’s live video where she showed how to make a shadow box, a different way. I wanted to try it. I used this Single And Double Peony die set from her line to make the flowers using red card stock. I used the Spellbinders - Amazing Paper Grace - Cannetille Rectangle die set to die cut the window and the frame in gold card stock. Here’s a closer look at the floral arrangement.

Lily of the Valley

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today I have an easel card with 3D flowers.

I used the Spellbinders - Susan’s Garden - Lili of the Valley die set for making the flowers and foliage. It was pretty easy to make and I love making 3D flowers. I die cut the oval window with Tutti Designs dies. The heart flourish on the right is a dies from Heartfelt Creations. The sentiment die is from Creative Expressions - Belated Birthday Wishes, which I die cut multiple times and snipped off the belated. Here’s a pic when it’s closed.

What do you think? Do let me know. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Peace, Love And Joy

Hello everyone! Today I have a card that I made for a couple of challenges.

I used the Spellbinders - Poinsettia die set designed by Susan Tierney-Cockburn to make the poinsettia. For the pine bough and pine cone, I used the Elizabeth Craft Designs - White Pine Pinecone and Bough, also designed be her. I decided to do a see through shaker window with arch dies. I used a mix of red and gold shaker mixes. The background is Altenew - Deck Planks 3D embossing folder. Now, this is an easel card.

The stopper for the easel is the sentiment die cut, which is Altenew - Fancy Peace. I layered multiple die cuts to get the thickness. The other part of the sentiment ‘Joy and Love’ is from the Inspired by Stamping -  Poinsettia stamp set, stamped in gold ink. Here’s a better look at the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by. Peace, Joy and Love for a wonderful new year!

Pink Poinsettia

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog! Today I have a pink and purple Christmas card with pink poinsettia.

I started by embossing a piece of purple cardstock with Altenew - Layered Snowflakes 3D embossing folder. I then die cut poinsettia using Altenew - Poinsettia on pink cardstock and inked it lightly with Mauve. I also die cut the Altenew - Fine Frames cover plate on white glitter paper. This was a bit thin paper, so I had trouble while adhering it down. I die cut some pine boughs using Elizabeth Craft Design dies. The sentiment is from Altenew - Poinsettia and Berries stamp set. The colors are from the Altenew Challenge

Red Poinsettia

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card with a big red poinsettia.

I used the Altenew - Poinsettia die to die cut the poinsettia layers and assembled them. I die cut 1 layer in green as well and cut it up and added behind the red layers. I also die cut some pine boughs from Elizabeth Craft Designs - White Pine Pinecone and Boughs and some berry branches from Altenew - Branches and Berries die set in 2 different shades of green. For the sentiment, I die cut the Altenew - Fancy Peace in gold and adhered it to a thin strip of acetate. I then adhered one end of the acetate on the poinsettia. This gives it a floating look. I colored some white pearls with ,y comics to create those tiny berries. The colors are inspired by the Altenew Inspiration Challenge

Give Thanks

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm so excited to announce that I'm the guest designer of the month at Word Art Wednesday.

The scripture for this week is Psalms 75:1. This verse is about giving thanks to the Lord. It is always right to give thanks to God! I used the arch dies from Scrapbook.com, Honey Bee Stamps - Lovely Layers: Anemone dies and the background embossing folder is from Craftwell. I used copics to color the die cute flower layers. I'm so grateful for this opportunity to guest design for WAW.

Calla Lilies

Hello everyone! I'm on the Craftwell blog today with a elegant floral card.

I love these Calla Lilies from Heartfelt Creations. I have had them for quite some time now. I stamped and die cut the flowers and leaves and colored them with inks. Then I used my flower shaping tools to give them some definition. I colored few Q tips with yellow ink for the center part of the calla lilies. To assemble them, I used hot glue gun. I also stamped and die cut some fillers from Heartfelt Creations - Tulip Vase & Fillers. For the card base, I used a 5x7 Ivory card base. I die cut few frames from the Heartfelt Creations - Royal Elegance Frames on gold card stock. The sentiment is from Just Rite stamps. This is one of my favorite sets for sentiments, mainly because of the font. I also die cut a few designs from Heartfelt Creations - Swirly Accent Spray and added them to the card.

Hyacinths

Hello everyone!! I'm on the Craftwell blog today, with this floral card. I'm ready for Spring, after this past week of snowstorm and cold weather!!

I used the dies Fern, Stained Glass Window and Hydrangea dies from Spellbinders, cut on my SNAP. I cut multiples of the flower in 2 different shades and added some color to the center of the flowers with Copics. I shaped the individual flowers with flower shaping tools.

I took a sheet of same colored card stock and arranged the flowers on it like a hyacinth.

I cut around the outline after adhering the flowers down.

I made 2 of these and adhered it near the Stained Glass Window die cut. The sentiment is from a old Just Rite stamp set - one of my favorites!

Merry Christmas

Hello everyone!! I'm on the Craftwell blog today, with a Christmas card idea that you could easily make multiples of - just in time for sending Christmas cards.

If you are like me, you are frantically looking for Christmas card designs that you make and send out 20's or more in a week or 2 at the max - that includes addressing and sealing the envelope as well. You are in the right place! This is 1 such design that I was able to make 20's in 3 - 4 days, working only a few hours every night, since I work during the day and have small kids. I first die cut all the greenery pieces I needed for this card - I used the Tim Holtz Mini Holiday Greens die set. These were perfect size for my A2 card. Next on to the poinsettia - this is a multi-step process. I stamped the poinsettia outline stamps from the Poinsettia & Holly Clusters - these stamps stamp out a few at a time, so it saves time (same with the dies as well). I stamped them with dark red ink on red cardstock to save time on coloring. Using a stamping platform helped speed up the process. I die cut all the poinsettia layers then and shaped them all with my embossing tool and foam mat. Then I adhered the layers to make the individual poinsettias and added prills for the center. Now comes the sentiment. I die cut the layers I used for the sentiment panel. All the layers are from Heartfelt Creations - Royal Elegance die set. The touch of gold adds just the right amount of elegance needed for this otherwise simple and almost flat card. I heat embossed the sentiment from Sunny Studios with gold embossing powder. I used a stamping platform for this step too. I stamp the sentiment on a panel and sprinkle embossing powder - I do this until I have a bunch ready to be heated and then I heat them all at once. This saves some time too. Now, all that's left is assembling them. I used foam tape for the sentiment panel and for the other pieces, I used liquid glue in a fine tip bottle. That's it! This card required the extra stamp for postage, but it's worth it, don't you think?

Tinkerbell Birthday Banner

Hello everyone!! Welcome back! I'm on the Craftwell blog today, with the banner I made for my daughter's birthday. My daughter wanted a Tinkerbell themed birthday party this year and I decided on making a tree stump cake for her, with Tinkerbell and fairy figurines. I wanted to make a banner that would go well with the cake design. I couldn't find much inspiration on tree stump banners online. So I decided to make my own version. Warning: This is a picture heavy post!

I started by cutting the banners using the outer die from Spellbinders Double Heart Gatefold die set. Then I embossed all the banner pieces with CraftWell Woodgrain Cottage embossing folder. I swiped the Brutus Monroe macchiato ink over the embossed lines. I die cut all the alphabets using Altenew Mega Alphabet dies on gold card stock. I adhered the letters on to the banners with foam tape.

For embellishing the banner, I decided to use flowers. I had a lot of flower dies, some of them were not even used once! What better time to use them than now! So I took out a bunch of die sets from different companies and started die cutting them. My Cut N Boss and SNAP were working full night shifts!

Here are some of the flower/buerfly dies I used : Crafter's Companion - Classic Lily, Crafter's Companion - Chic Butterflies, Karen Burniston - Flower Pot pop up, MFT - Lily, Sizzix - Anthurium, Sizzix - Sweet Pea, Spellbinders - Coreopsis, Spellbinders - Floral Oval, Tutti Designs - Lily Of the Valley.

My other daughter punched out some leafy vines using a MS punch. I added all these flowers, butterflies and leaves to the banners.

The banner came out exactly the way I envisioned! It looked so pretty on the green/yellow tulle backdrop I had made. If you are short on time, my only advise would be to use those huge floral frames (like the Lily of the Valley or the Floral Oval) instead of making 3D flowers - those 3D flowers will take some time but they are worth every second!

Here's a look at the entire setup with the cake and the cupcakes.

A closer look at the tree stump cake with some cake moss.

Let me know how I did! My daughter absolutely loved the decorations and the cake! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day.

Poinsettia on Window

Hello everyone!! I'm on the Craftwell blog today, with a quick and simple Christmas card.

I used used Ivory card base for this card. I feel that it gives a more Christmassy feeling to the card :) I die cut the poinsettia layers on red and green cardstock using the Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia die on my Cut N Boss. For the Stained Glass Window die, I used golden colored card stock. The leaves are from the Spellbinders Fern die set. I added some pearls and gems to the arrangement. I didn't want to add a sentiment on the front as I was quite satisfied with this arrangement and didn't want to add more elements.

How do you like my card today? Please do let me know in the comments. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!!
