JOY

 Hello everyone!! I'm on the Craftwell blog today, with this Christmas card. 

Christmas is one of my favorite occasions to make cards for. I love trying different color combos, but I definitely love the traditional colors more, which is apparent by this card. I die cut the pine leaves, ornaments, holly and poinsettia using dies from Spellbinders on white card stock and colored them all with Copics. Coloring them gives a little more dimension. I die cut the letters JOY on gold glitterstock - after all how can you make a Christmas card without even a little glitter! I inked the top and bottom of the card stock with Hero Arts Forever Green ink. I arranged all the die cuts on the card base and adhered them. I added some poinsettia sequins and glitter balls to finish the card.

Shaker Ornament

Hello everyone!! Today is  blog hop day at Brutus Monroe and our theme for today is Ornaments. Here's what I made for today:

I die cut the plaid pattern paper from the Winter Cabin paper pad with the star die. I also die cut the star from using the same star die set on Gilded glitter stock. I die cut the same frame on a sheet of fun foam. I didn't have any black/red foam sheets, so used a pink one and I colored the edges with a black marker. For the shaker mix, I applied some Gold glitter glaze over the Stars stencil on my craft mat and let it dry. Once dry, I carefully removed them. I added these glitter stars and some sequins from one of the older inspiration box.

Brutus Monroe - Unity Stamps Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Today is a very exciting day!! Brutus Monroe is collaborating with Unity Stamps to release a set of beautiful background stamps and we are celebrating it with a blog hop with both Design Teams together! Here's what I created with one of the new stamps:

Unity Stamps and Brutus Monroe has come together to release a set of 4 background stamps in red rubber!! And they're so beautiful! You can check Barn Wall (the one I have used), Dance with Denim, Hit the Brick and Spilled Paint here. I decided to make a Christmas card with the Barn Wall stamp. I stamped the background with Maple surface ink on white card stock. Then I inked the card stock with  Maple surface ink to give a tone on tone look. I then gold embossed the sentiment from the Merry & Bright stamp set and the pine leaves from last year's Holiday Inspiration Box with Gilded embossing powder. I then adhered this on to an A2 card base. I took a piece of scrap card stock and applied Deco Foil Transfer Gel over one particular ornament from the Ornament stencil. Once dry, I foiled it with gold foil. I stamped the Holly sprig from last year's Holiday Inspiration Box with Sidewalk ink and colored it with my copics for no-line coloring. I then fussy cut and colored the edges with the same color markers. I then adhered a piece of golden twine on to the ornament and adhered the ornament on to the barn wall background with foam tape. I adhered the holly sprig and a few star shaped sequins with glue. I loosely wrapped a piece  of golden twine around the sprig.

Foiled Floating Ornaments

Hello everyone! I'm on the Brutus Monroe blog today with 2 beautiful Christmas ornaments.

Here's the first one:

I started by cutting the Marble clear toner sheet into the shape of the ornament (circle with a holder on top) with scissors. You can also use a circle die, but please don't forget to add a small square on top - that will help to hold the clear sheet in place in the ornament. I then foiled it with tide pool foil.

These ornaments are from Dollar Tree. But I've bought similar ornaments from Hobby Lobby as well. Most craft stores sell them. I opened the ornament, rolled the foiled clear toner sheet and pushed it in to the ornament. Then I added some sequins and shaker elements (bottlecap sequins from Brutus Monroe, sequins from Dollar Tree and others from my stash) in to the ornament and closed it.

For the second ornament, I decided to use the Sunrise foil with the Distress Circles clear toner sheet. I followed the same steps like the first one, then I heat embossed the sentiment Joy with gilded embossing powder. I added a mix of red and gold sequins for this one. Finally I made a bow with red ribbon and added it on top.
